Johnnie was in a Sex Ed class in high school. His teacher said this.

"Let's say that Female A, let's caller Amander, she swipes right every 10 guys. And after every guy she swipes right with, she gets a response, let's call it a 'match' ok shall we? So now she has a potential date with ten guys. But Amanda, the smart sweetheart that she is, she only goes on a date with one of those ten guys once per week. Out of every five, about one evolves into a sexual relationship."

Sounds great, right? But then sex ed teacher gets into the statistics.

"Eleven percent of the world's population has genital herpes. That's eleven percent. That means that statistically, unless Amanda is very good at selecting partners through her advanced applications on her phone, she has a one in ten chance of making contact with a rather nasty virus. Is that safe to say, statistically?"

The class groans in discomfort as the teacher continues to describe the likelihood that any of them would contract sexual diseases.

"But that's just the case, though, isn't it? If she goes on one date per every other week, which is let's say 25 dates in a year, all different people. And only once out of every five times she meets someone, it actually becomes sexual. She is in fact likely to contract herpes in 4 years, according to the very science of statistics, would that be correct?"

"Well, not if she uses contraception," says one intelligent student.
"Not if she doesn't sleep with anyone at all," says another.
